Is it important to vote?
The right to vote is one of the many milestones we've accomplished as Americans in our fight to establish true democracy and secure personal freedoms.

Unfortunately, about one-third of us don't. It's not that everyone abstains, but much of time, it has much to do with malpractice and disenfranchisement in some communities.

Did you know?

According to an October study by the Government Accountability Office, nearly two-thirds of the 137 polling places inspected in 2016 had at least one impediment to people with disabilities. ​

71% of eligible 65+ year-olds and 67% of 45–64 year-olds voted in 2016. Less than half of 18–29 year-olds did, according to census data.

Voter turnout in the 2016-2020 primary election season saw a 20% decrease in voters aged 18-29 in Texas and 9% in North Carolina.

How does voting work?

Depending on your state’s voter registration rules, you will have access to different resources for voting, including vote-by-mail opportunities and online voter registration.

Online registration is available in 39 states plus the District of Columbia.

Download the National Mail Voter Registration Form. You can fill it out onscreen and print the completed form, or print the blank form and fill it out by hand. Remember to sign the form before mailing it to the location listed for your state.​

Deadlines
Eligible individuals can register to vote at any time. The deadline to register in order to participate in an upcoming election is 29 days before the election. The registration deadlines for 2020 are:
